btw, now I realized that why most of my friends' blogs on Xanga are the way they are. It's really hard to write well, to compose something that is thoughtful, interesting, yet not very personal. I used to say that other people's blogs read like emails, and I realized that neither am I a very good writer. All those years of substituting Economic classes for humanity requirements has taken a toll on my writing skills. People hardly ever write a well composed letter anymore, instead they just send short blurbs in emails. I used to think that Email is a wonderful tool for communication, now I realize that it lacked both depth and expressiveness. (And not to mention it's the biggest time sink of the day for me!) Remember that ridiculously low passing rate (17%) at MIT for our class during the freshmen writing assessment? well, I barely passed it, but I am still very poor at effective communication. Maybe the technical white papers are easier to read and write because they involve clearly presenting a problem and a solution, but writing a blog is definitely more tedious. It's a good practice starting this blog site, time to get some practice runs before I take the GMAT!
