Pinball's pessimism

I casually asked ("Pinball") "how's life?", below is a direct quote from my friend's response:

"(blah blah) ... You know, this whole thing about meeting someone to love and marry and be with for the rest of your life sure is complicated. (blah blah) ...... Life is never good. How can it be? We have many expectations and only on our deathbed will we concede our happiness was never what we expected it to be."
